Top 10 – Analysis

Nic Naitanui breaks into the top 10 of the Weekly Ruck Rankings after 3 straight games of great form. Over the past 3 games, Nic Nat has scored at least 88 adjusted fantasy points in each game and averaged 94 adjusted fantasy PPG. The increase in scoring is partially due to increased time on ground. In the first 8 games, Naitinui’s time on ground was between 58-70% per game. However, in each of the last 3 games Naitinui has had at least 70% time on ground. A sign that Naitinui is getting near full strength fitness and health wise at the right time of the season.

Rhys Stanley continues to be an enigma for fantasy owners. At his best (as he was in Round 2 when he scored 104 adjusted fantasy points) he can lay claim to being a top 5 to 7 ruck option. However, he has been slightly underwhelming since returning from injury. Over the past 3 games Stanley has averaged a solid but not spectacular 77 adjusted fantasy PPG. His worst game of that stretch came last week where he could only manage 69 adjusted fantasy points. The good news for Stanley owners is that he continues to dominate ruck time for the Cats. Last round, Stanley took part in 77% of the Cats’ centre bounce attempts. Also, Stanley gets a pretty good match-up this week against the Crows. Adelaide have given up the fourth most fantasy PPG to ruckmen in 2020.

11 to 25 – Analysis

Oscar McInerney has been a revelation in the ruck since coming in for the injured Stef Martin. Over the past 3 games, McInerney has averaged 97 adjusted fantasy PPG. McInerney has benefited from being the lone ruckman with only a very little chop out from Matt Eagles. Last round, McInerney took part in 83% of the Lions’ centre bounce attempts. He also gets a pretty good match-up this week against the Saints who have given up the third most fantasy PPG to ruckmen in 2020.

Key Definite Outs

Peter Ladhams (suspended). Stef Martin (injured). Sam Naismith (injured). Matthew Kreuzer (injured).
